We recently completed a scenario
planning toolkit for the Department for Transport to provide DfT staff with
the resources they need to work with scenarios. Although DfT use the
toolkit to support a specific set of scenarios (Foresight's Intelligent
Infrastructure Systems scenarios) the toolkit offers a range of techniques
that can be applied generically.
In 2005, Alister produced a Scenario Planning Manual for the European Commission's Article 6 Project. The manual is designed as a practical tool for organisations who wish to run small to medium scale scenario exercises. It was developed with regional development organisations in mind but the techniques are suitable for any scenario process. The manual can be downloaded from www.regionalkeycompetencies.eu.
